Minister Creecy to participate in the annual Nelson Mandela Day commemoration at Kleinmond Primary School, Western Cape
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Ms Barbara Creecy will participate in the annual International Mandela Day activities on Monday, 08 August 202 in Kleinmond, Western Cape.
The activities will include a clean-up and tree planting. In line with key focus areas for global partnerships on areas of education and literacy; food and nutrition; shelter; sanitation and active citizenship, the Minister will hand over school desks made out of wood from alien invasive plants cleared as part of the Working for Water programme.
Every year on 18 July South Africans together with the international community honour our former president and international icon Nelson Mandela in the celebration of Nelson Mandela International Day. This day has since its launch in 2009 inspired individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, and in doing so build a global movement for good.
