Minister Creecy hosts a dialogue on youth and climate change
15 June 2020
The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries Ms Barbara Creecy will host a virtual dialogue with South African youth with focus on climate change issues on Tuesday, 16 June 2020.
The virtual dialogue forms part of the Government’s Youth Month programme themed: Youth Power: Growing South Africa together during the period of Covid-19.
The young people will be given an opportunity to lead discussions on the following topics: Covid-19 (Effects on Environment); How to rebuild the Green Economy post Covid-19 and what mechanism should be put in place to address the above challenges?
Earlier this year, Minister Creecy had an initial engagement with the youth, and encouraged them to actively participate in climate mitigation and adaptation initiatives.
