The Department Of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries to lead International Coastal Clean-Up Day activities in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

The Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries will be partnering with various stakeholders to partake in International Coastal Clean-up Day (ICCD) in Durban on Saturday, 21 September 2019.
South Africa will join many coastal countries in commemorating ICCD, which rallies together communities with the common goal of collecting and documenting marine litter around global coastlines.
South Africa has participated in the ICCD, which is the world’s largest volunteer clean-up event of its kind, which enables scientists to gather valuable data on the extent of marine pollution, since 1986.
Members of the media are invited to attend as follows, and will be afforded opportunities for photographs and interviews.
